Spring soirée at Liten

Posted by: Ciara Ramos on May 13, 2015

As some of you may already know, we have new little sister store right next door called Liten. Becky Buford (owner of Essenza and Les Amis) planned to open up a third boutique late last fall after Lambs Ear Shoes decided to go online only. The space was too pretty to pass up and Becky’s inspiration for another concept store had long since been brewing and thus, Liten was born.

Liten is an imaginative, sparkly, dreamland filled with delicate, organic jewelry from artists who seamlessly combine natural stones and precious metals. Each piece is hand selected with respect to the quality and integrity of each line. In addition to jewelry, Liten offers beautifully crafted home goods and unique gifts such as delicate ceramics, tea towels from Japan and leather goods from Brooklyn.

‘Having Essenza and Les Amis, over the years I have come to realize just how special a piece of jewelry can be, how it can become a symbol, marking a special time or event in someone’s life. I believe jewelry is like a captured memory that you can physically hold, appreciate and make a part of you.’ – Becky Buford, Owner.

Swedish for little, Liten was also inspired by Becky’s grandfather, a gold miner from a small mining town in Colorado. Hints of this inspiration can be seen through out the space — big hunks of agate and pyrite, an antique brass scale and an old miners headlamp. Collaboratively, Becky and contractor husband Jim have brought this unique space to life. ‘Liten is about the discovery of the artist — a minimal, intimate space filled with beautiful natural light in which we hope to bring clients and artists together.’

So if you haven’t been by yet or you’re looking for something fun to do in the upcoming weekend, join us for a spring soirée and special artist showcase at Liten! We invite you to explore the unique, hand-crafted works of local jewelry artist Francesca Lacagnina and ceramist, Hardie Cobbs. Using vastly different mediums, these artists find similar inspiration in the details of the natural world and organic forms.

Come celebrate spring and the work of these lovely local artists, Saturday, May 23rd from 11 to 6pm!
