The deep roots of this special Italian perfumery hearken back to the 14th century on the picturesque and romantic island of Capri. It is said that the Prior of a Carthusian Monastery discovered ancient perfume formulas in 1948. These then are the inspiration behind the famously gorgeous Carthusia perfumes of today. Each of the captivating scents in this line paint colorful pictures of the sensual pleasures of the island: handsome, rugged rocks and cliffs against a lapis colored sea, acres of terraced vineyards and citrus orchards, intoxicating flowers and verdant greenery, and the sweet dolci of Italian bakeries. These are truly sumptuous scents.
